Restorative Yoga & Yoga Nidra for Ease & Harmony

  • Behind The Lids Meditation 1733 Monrovia Ave, Unit L Costa Mesa, CA, 92627 United States (map)

“There is no such thing as patience. Either we are in harmony with the speed of life or not.”  – Judith Hanson Lasater

Undoubtedly, yoga and mindfulness supports us in accepting the speed of our lives and facilitates letting go in order to let be. Even so, sometimes we need to take refuge: to step back and collect ourselves, and to remember how to be compassionately present with ourselves in order to ride the flow of our lives with ease, kindness and authenticity.

In this special class, expect a very gentle restorative yoga practice, which uses many props to support your body in comfortable positions held for extended periods of time. This meditative practice facilitates opening rather than stretching, and allows the body to rest deeply by activating the parasympathetic (rest & digest) nervous system.

We will conclude with an extended savasana (rest) and guided yoga nidra. Yoga Nidra is a form of guided mindfulness meditation also known as “yogic sleep” where you may find effortless ease and relaxation. In this practice, we’re guided to turn our attention toward the nature of awareness, consciousness, and embodiment.

Beginners are encouraged in this all-levels class, and all props will be provided!

Exchange: $15

No one will be turned away due to lack of funds.

About Taylor:

Taylor first came to yoga as a teenager in 2010, and quickly fell in love with the practice as an opportunity to be quiet and get to know herself. She weaves tools into the practice that can be used on and off of the mat in order to calm busy minds, manage stress, and regulate the nervous system. Since completing her yoga teacher training and beginning her teaching career in 2017, she has taught over 1,000 hours of classes and uses her experience to tailor the yoga practice to all bodies, levels and abilities.
